Description:
There are 3 levels of indoor exhibits with numerous hands-on activities for kids to get involved in. During the day, small group experiments are done on different scientific concepts and ideas.
The hands-on nature will keep the kids entertained for the entire day. This is a great way to beat the summer heat and give the kids a learning experience at the same time.
The center has rotating exhibits that come for several months at a time, so it is worth checking back frequently.
There are various kid's science camps held throughout the year as well.
Notes:
Prices listed are for general admission. Memberships and additional activities may be purchased as well. HINT: A family membership can easily pay for itself, especially during those hot summer months when the kids are out of school. See the website for details.
Parking garages are located on the southeast corner of 5th and Monroe streets and the southwest corner of 7th and Washington streets. Parking is discounted when you validate your ticket at the Science Center's Information Desk.
Most of the exhibits tend to be targeted for children 5 and up and tend to be overwhelming to younger children. There is a kiddie play area for the younger kids to be entertained with parent supervision.
