Kitt Peak, on the Tohono O'odham Reservation, is home to twenty-two optical and two radio telescopes representing eight astronomical research institutions. Guided tours are offered daily at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. and group tours are available by appointment.

The road is maintained by the State of Arizona and is on tribal lands. Any other activities outside of driving and taking photos must be approved by the Tribal Administration Office in Sells and may require a permit 520-383-2028.
