Once a sign of US power in the Pacific Ocean, the last of the battleships is now a spectacular museum located in Pearl Harbor. Everyone will enjoy walking on the decks of this great ship and viewing the quarters inside. You can even buy snacks and eat where the enlisted men ate. Directions:From Waikiki, take the H1 freeway and pass the airport. Watch for the Pear Harbor exit. Don't take it. Immediately after the Pearl Harbor exit is an exit labeled Arizona Memorial, Stadium. Take this exit. You will pass the Navy base

Description:

Take a camera and comfortable walking clothes. This ship tour is magnificent and continues to get better each year. Stand on the spot where the formal surrender of the Japanese fleet to the Americans took place to end World War II.

Notes:

PRICES: Inquire at the ticket office about military and kama'aina (if you are a Hawaii resident) rates. There are also discounts for combined USS Bowfin (submarine) and USS Missouri tours.

LOCATION: Although the ship is on Ford Island, tickets are purchased at USS Bowfin museum adjacent to the USS Arizona Memorial and a shuttle takes visitors to Ford Island.

SECURITY: Bags are not allowed on the tour due to increased security (at the time of this writing, not even a camera bag, diaper bag, or purse). They have lockers to store bags if needed for a fee.

This is a fun ship to tour and on the deck was the surrender that ended World War II. Kids should be old enough to walk and climb stairs for several hours to really enjoy this tour.
